Runner comments...with thanks to Runner's World and all participants!
Up there with the best!
As a first-timer I enjoyed it, despite mud and hills!
My first 10k. Fantastic friendliness. User friendly. Hard course, but a great
acheivement to finish. Would recomend it to new runners, just for the support
from the other runners. Thanks to the copius route markers and Andy Fay for
organising
Very challenging, well organised, enjoyable and rewarding! I will be back next
year!!
Lots of fun - but very tough! Perhaps not the best for beginners (which we are).
Very well organised, fab marshalls and lovely sweep (Steve) without who we may
still be on one of the hills. Might even do it again next year!
Great fun for my first race
Something for everyone wishing for a challenge
For an off road route that has been well planned and presents some good challenges
(downhill as well as up) this is a great race. For a first race the organisers
has got the knack! Dr Rob has lent his terrific experience to make it a must
for next year’s calendar. This was a friendly race for a very good cause.
So now we wait for the Munro!
A small but extremely friendly and well organised event. Very casual and relaxed-
unlike many bigger races and a good atmosphere. Excellent scenery and challenging
course - definitely not one for beginners or attempts at a PB (add about 10
minutes to your normal 10K time!!) Will be back next year - it will almost be
a shame if it got too popular........
It was our first 10k and I think we picked a tough one! But in an odd way we
really 'enjoyed' it! We were to feel really welcome by the organisers and they
were really interested in that we were raising money for our chosen charity.
The marshalls were great. Huge thanks to Steve (sweep): we really need him!
Hope to see you next year.
Great race! Hills were killers, but it was well organised, with
a fantastic atmosphere.
Finished strong after nearly dying half way -really enjoyed it, would definitely
do it again (I think)!
Many thanks - really good race!
Thank you for organising a fantastic race today. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was worried about the hills but the atmosphere was so good that they didn't cause a problem. The marshalls were all very friendly and helpful. What beautiful countryside to run in too.
Thanks very much for a great race. Well done!
The hills were special. Seemed a nice bunch of people. Not too
cliquey.
Well organised, friendly marshalls and challenging course.
Great race which challenged the mind as well as the body, the hills seemed to
go on forever. Great medal and stuff, wasn't expecting such a good pack for
a charity race, especially loved the piece of chocolate at the finish line,
delicious. Well done to the organisers and a big thank you to the marshals for
their words of encouragement and traffic control.
Top class, excellently organised, beautiful rural setting, gruelling
hills - hopefully this event will become an established event in the running
calendar
Very friendly, great atmosphere and very well organised. The
hills were killers (my legs and lungs are stiff recovering). Would definitely
run it again.
Challenging conditions, but fun all the same!
Really enjoyable, hilly, muddy run through that part of Surrey that people don't
see too much of. Some good hills and a friendly run.
Great first attempt - will definitely be back next year!
Very tough hills, but once you've done these two [Knacker Cracker and Bookham
10k] you can do them all
Fantastic race- well done to organisers
What more could you want..a good cause, steep lungbusting hills and heaps of
mud. Recorded a PW for 10k but certainly the most fun I've had in a race since
the Midsummer Munro Madness (which was my PW over the 1/2 Marathon!)
